Bloody Martini's - A Halloween Cocktail!
Spooky season is here! Prepare some Bloody Martini's as a frightful tipple perfect for any Halloween party!!

Raise a glass for the spooky season with Bloody Martini's - a frightfully tasty tipple for any Halloween party!

As Halloween approaches, I love to think about terrifyingly tasty treats (no tricks here!) for any party or entertaining. Cocktails are fantastic for enhancing a theme, so I used my gin collection to make Bloody Martinis!!
The bright red colour comes from the inclusion of pomegranate juice in the cocktail, mixed with classical martini ingredients of extra dry vermouth and a London dry gin. You can use any London dry gin you may have, although I'd avoid anything with any flavouring in it to avoid reducing the pomegranate flavour of the martini. For my version I went with Tanqueray as it's a lovely crisp neutral gin.
Simply a red drink wasn't spooky enough for me, so I wanted to make a blood drip effect around the glass! Thankfully plenty of seasonal fruits will add the deep red colour, without needing to add any colouring. Blackberries are ideal for the blood drip and garnish. Plus they are easy to push through a sieve to add to the icing sugar to thicken then colouring to a gooey paste to drip around the rim of your cocktail glass. This also provides a sweet hit as well that pairs well with the pomegranate flavour in the cocktail.
There you have it a very easy to prepare Halloween cocktail!!! It's also extremely easy to scale the below recipe up if you're servicing these ghoulish drinks for a party!!!
