Excited to try something new we booked lunch at PYM Kitchen for our final day of our recent Disneyland Paris holiday. The restaurant is in Walt Disney Studios, in the relatively newly (July 22) opened Avengers Campus area where it's important to look to the rooftops to say hi to a few heroes before your lunch!

The chefs at PYM Kitchen have discovered Ant-man & the Wasps PYM particle technology...  so be prepared for some experimental food! The American style buffet features lab creations of unusual sized food from the giant to the subatomic! The perfect pit stop to recharge all superheroes!

PYM Kitchen experience

Themed as an experimental PYM laboratory, expect to see plenty of characteristic hexagons, machinery and staff in lab coats. At the entrance, I loved the screens above it showing the Spider-Bots and ingredients passing through the machine becoming supersized or super-shrunk! These were perfect fun to watch with the kids whilst we waited to be shown to our table. On the way I spotted lots of Antman art in the lab & factory.

I'd recommend booking the restaurant to ensure you can be seated quickly, there was a waiting line when we arrived that we could go straight past. Once at our table we ordered our drinks (soft drinks included in the menu) and were presented with a giant pretzel to share before we went up to the buffet. The table was laid was Antman activity placemats that were great entertainment for children, with condiments in test tubes and children's' fizzy drinks served in lab flasks!

The food at PYM Kitchen

There is a huge selection of buffet food available for all diners to choose from, including an area of more child friendly dishes as well. The buffet was well stocked and continually replenished on my visit and there were chefs available to make or serve food at the stations as well.

There was a big salad section for 'starters', with all the ingredients to make your own Caesar salad or salad plate with houmous, chips and veggies. Plus some PYM specials! These included giant croutons alongside regular sized croutons, dressings served in lab flasks and blue mayonnaise! The giant croutons (bottom right) and blue mayo (top right) have already become a bit of an internet sensation, so of course I had to try both! The giant crouton was a nice quirky item, and the colourful mayo was an instant hit with adults & children!

The super sized elements really make an appearance in the mains section, where you will find both giant and subatomic mini versions of some classic American dishes. I loved the giant hotdog, with all the trimmings, alongside tiny versions that were equally full of flavour and the huge burger which you get a cake slice serving, or mini sliders! Other dishes were available at a pasta bar (made to order), meats, cheeses, jambalaya, salmon tartare and much more! As a all you can eat buffet it's a great place to encourage the children to try a few new ingredients or dishes - my nieces enjoyed trying some new items like corndogs, char siu pork and edamame beans (although not all were wins!)

The dessert section had another plentiful selection of options, including more fun twists on the sizing theme. The giant Oreo cookie cake, with mini cookies was a definite wow factor and more colourful food like blue custard. I had to try the chocolate quantum particle dessert (top right) which featured rich chocolate brownie pieces, chocolate mousse and mini strawberry pearls that exploded with flavour! My nieces enjoyed the soft serve ice cream machine with toppings bar to let them make their own sundaes, and my family all enjoyed the Antman cheesecakes, red velvet cakes and little & large doughnuts!

All of us thoroughly enjoyed our visit to PYM Kitchen in the Avengers Campus, and every one of us said we had to go there again on our next trip. The restaurant was spacious, with excellent theming throughout the decor and delicious food. It's a great addition to the park, and I'd be ecstatic if they added the option of a superhero dining experience there in the future!
